| Here, feel free to post any personal reviews or thoughts about certain movies you have watched. P.S. Spoilers are available, if you want to see them simply click on them. Don't click on them if you don't want to spoil the movie for yourself!! Final Destination 5: When I saw this movie last night, I was amazed because I expected less from the series. After the comedic route "The Final Destination" took, I was glad to see a major revamp in the series. As some of you know, the story starts with a job retreat at a wedding, so everyone at hand boards a bus, passing a bridge in construction. Much like the other series, one of the workers has a premonition, and ends up saving a bunch of people from a gruesome death. This beginning disaster has some of the most inventive kills in the series, including - Spoiler:
hot tar covering your whole body, getting hit by a bridge suspender at full velocity, or a boat's sailtip going right through you as you fall off a bridge
But that was just the intro. Later on in the story, a new system in the series has been introduced, which shows that if you kill a person, you get their life span. This fresh take on the movie brings in some new ideals, and makes the movie feel less repetitive, as the previous 4. The 3D was pretty good, although the unneccesarily long credit introduction to the film at the beginning was extremely tedious. But nevertheless, Final Destination 5 is a must watch if you're a fan of the previous installments. Finally, I will provide insight on the twist in the end. Best twist in the whole Final Destination franchise yet. If you want to know a major detail on the twist, click here. One sentence, but only if your curious, as it is also a major spoiler. - Spoiler:
Near the end of the film, it is revealed that it was a prequel to the original FInal Destination all along, with a shocking ending scene Once the film is over, a homage is payed to the other films with a montage showing the numerous deaths from the past 4 movies, so if you still haven't seen any of the other 4 movies, I recommend you leave the theater as soon as it begins Overall, pretty great movie, some faulty plot lines, and decent acting. I recommend you watch it, as it will satisfy your thirst for gore. |
