| Waffle, can you give me your opinion on the AMD Bulldozer? If you could, it would be helpful. |

It would require me to buy a new motherboard. That is all. |

It would require me to buy a new motherboard. That is all. I know that - I think ASUS Crosshair V Formula Motherboard supports it. |

I won't upgrade any time soon, current rig still works perfectly fine. BF3 at highest settings, Crysis 2 at highest settings, all around 40-50 FPS. |

| What's the current motherboard you are using at the moment?
I know it has to be AM3/AM3+ socket, as AMD only supports that. |

- Good make & model.
That's why I have it. It was best around price/performance when I bought it. |

| Reviews are saying it is not so good, and i7 is still best. How can 6 cores beat 8 cores? |

By how it's built. |

Because the Intel i series has multithreading, which are basically virtual cores. For example the i5 I have, has 4 physical cores, but it performs on a level higher, at around the 6-8 core mark. Not going to go into detail, because hardware isn't exactly my area of expertise, but I will say that technologically, Intel is still ahead of AMD. |

Nice comment, and AMD do create some really good GFX cards what many people take use of. I would switch to Intel if they lowered the prices of their CPU's. AMD may be behind, but they are catching up. |

| Intel is ahead of AMD in that area, and will be for a while, but for price/performance, AMD is leading.
Same as ATI vs NVIDIA cards, NVIDIA cards are ahead of ATI cards, but price/performance, ATI is ahead. |
